Hello everyone,

What a week it has been. Our Victorian Government has extended our lockdown once again. We will still soldier on and continue to follow the guidelines to ensure we are safe. Last week’s Guest Speaker was a PHD student from RMIT Lolita Liseth Cueva Zepeda who spoke about her country Mexico. She discussed the culture and history and indicated that Mexico was one of the ‘Seven Wonders.’ She stated that Mexico is rated 7th most visited country. Lolita enlightened us on her research on Fuel Technology – “Biomass” as substitute fuel. She mentioned that Rice straw was the new renewable energy creating slurry fuel.

****Please note there will be no Rotary meeting next Monday 7th June 2021. Please Stay safe and hope this lockdown soon ends.

Anna Walpole President

Club news

Vale Mora Moore 14/07/1922 - 30/05/2021. Moora was a much-loved Friend of Richmond Rutty. She was married to Norman Moore a past president (the 15th) of the club and District Governor 1983 -1984. The District Conference ws held in Albury that year and Barry Roberts was MC. Her son Kieran was a member of Richmond for over 25years, He acted as auditor for the club for many years and certainly was a great mentor to Judy when she took over the treasure’s role. Mora was a great helpmate to Norm and loved reading the Bulletin each week with Kieran until his death. I believe Mora ws more tech savvy the Kieran. I would often get little notes for her about the Bulletin. I tried to find a photo of Mora that was taken at a Friends lunch at the home of David and Traude Bibby. But failed. Mora became a Pail Harris Fellow presented by President Brian List in 1991-1992. I believe Mora passed away peacefully. She lived life to the fullest and inspired all who met her. She was treasured and will be missed by all.

President Change Over

The formal Change Over event will be arranged for July and as soon as we have some certainty

regarding the lock downs.

The event will be the review of Anna’s year and a welcome to Janice.

As this will not be until well into the new Rotary year we will be doing a simplified hand over

from Ann’a team to Janice’s team at our normal meeting:- 28th June 2021.

Lucky Marc Miller made it to Noosa before the lockdown

Hi,

Sylvia and I are up in Noosa at the moment.

The Noosa Come Together Festival is being held this weekend. Part of the festival are the heats of the Australian National Busking Championship, which are being held on the Noosaville foreshore today.

Here are some shots.

Regards,

Mark Miller

Reconciliation week

AFL’s indigenous round

Hawthorn Football Club.

I’m not sure why anyone would want a HFC jumper at present but nice to see proceeds going to Worawa. The design is by a Worawa student (or maybe she is now an ex-student)
